CENTENNIAL TALENT SHOW TRYOUTS
Dear Parent(s) or Guardians,
Your child has indicated that he/she would like to showcase his/her talent during a school assembly on Monday, June 2nd at 9:30 AM. In order for your child to participate, the following criteria must be followed:
1. A parent must sign and return the permission slip at the bottom of this letter to Centennial no later than Monday, April 28th in the envelope at the entrance to the office from the gym.
2. A parent must screen their child’s talent performance to make sure it is “appropriate” for the student body. Please keep the following in mind when helping to prepare and review your student’s talent:
a. No inappropriate songs, this includes contents that discuss alcohol, drugs, and suggestive lyrics.
b. Please bring music to be played for audition, as needed. If singing is the talent, we ask that the musical piece be karaoke-type, with no words.
c. Talent may not be lip-sync or pantomime and must be easily seen by a full audience.
a. Because of time constraints of the show, each act must be no longer than 2 minutes for each act.
3. Your child must attend the audition, Monday, April 28th, 2025 after school. Parents must make arrangements to pick up their child after try-outs.
If your child is unable to attend auditions, please coordinate with PTA Talent Show Organizer before April 28th. Arrangements can be made, but please do your best to have your student attend live auditions.
Final Line Up will be posted on the doors of the music room May 5th after 8 AM. and the PTA Facebook group.
A note: Acts will only be cut if they cannot fit the time component, are inappropriate, or if those reviewing the acts deem the student’s talent is not ready to be showcased publicly. As a parent, helping your student prepare before the audition will greatly increase your student’s success at being in the talent show. A second date may be added for an additional talent show if we have more acts than one assembly will allow. A flyer will be sent home if we add another date.
